Guilin travel Seven-star Park

Seven-star Park is located in the urban area of Guilin City and on the east bank of Li River, through which Xiaodong River is passing. The park covers an area of over 100 hectares and was named after the tale that the seven peaks of Mountain Qixing were the seven stars in the north sky falling down to the earth. Boasting hills, rivers, caves and rocks all together, the "Seven-star Peaks","Morning of Camel Hill", "Crescent Rainbow Shadow" and "Putuo Stone Forest" are the symbolic scenes in the park. The park has famous spots like Seven-star Peak, Longyin Cave, Crescent Stone, Zenggong Stone, Camel Hill, Longyin Stone, Flower Bridge,

Crescent Tower, Light of China Square, Children's Amusement Park, Zoo, 3 Generals and 800 Warriors' Tomb, Mosque, Potted Scenery and Gui Hai Bei Lin. Seven-star Park is the largest comprehensive park with the longest history and the most tourists in Guilin.

Brocade Hill

The Folded Brocade Hill lies in the Northeast of Guilin, facing the Li River. The Brocade Hill, the DuXiu Peak and the FuBo Hill Stand like the three legs of a tripod. All these three hills are the famous tourist attractions of Guilin. The Folded Brocade Hill covers an area of approximately 2 square kilometers. It consists of the Moon Peak, the Red-crowned Crane Peak,

the Siwang Hill and the Yuyue Hill. Spanning the Guilin City, the Brocade Hill is very picturesque and easy to climb, and has become a hot scenic spot among the hills in Guilin. There are a lot of tourist attractions in the hill, such as the Folded Brocade Pavilion, the Yuyue Pavilion, the Chengren Tablet of Masters Qu and Zhang, the Yangzhi Hall, the Wind Cave, the Brocade Building, the Wangjiang Pavilion and the Nayun Pavilion, etc. on the hill are many cliff inscriptions of celebrities in different dynasties, which are the cream of the antiques. If you climb up the Moon Peak and stand in the Nayun Pavilion, you will get a bird's-eye view of the whole city.

Nanxi Hill

Nanxi Hill is situated in the south of Guilin, about one kilometer away from the railway station. The east and west peaks of the Hill tower high. Draped in a veil of gray mist, they offer a spectacular view. Most of the hills in Guilin are dark green with the only exception, Nanxi Hill tinted with white. There are many peculiar caves including White Dragon Cave and Liu Xian Cave. The earliest explorer of Nanxi Hill was the Inspector of Tang Dynasty named Libo and he liked these caves so much that he engraved his poem named "Farewell Nanxi" in one of the caves. The Dragon Spine Pavilion between the two peaks is the best place to sightsee the city of Guilin. The White Dragon Bridge is on Nanxi River. The White Dragon Spring to the north of the Hill is a well-known spring in Guilin.

Li River Ethnic Cultural Park

Located at the meeting place of Li River and Xiaodong River the park is a village centering various arts and customs of Zhuang, Dong, Miao and Yao nationalities, which make it a comprehensive place for appreciation, amazement and participation. The park is furnished with different national art crafts including sculptures, paintings, masks, wine ware,

totem and even some buildings and so on. What is more, so many national activities are held here including wedding, plate-shoe dance, lusheng dance, clothing exhibition, animal-fighting, wax dyeing, painting, sculptures and other acrobatics. These will give you various tastes about Chinese nationalities.

Li River

Li River is the soul of Guilin scenery. It is the river of poems and paintings. The region covers 83-km karst area with clear, exotic, ingenious and changing characteristics. Take a boat a boat and enjoy yourself with the wonderful scenery of peeks, rivers, sunshine and reflections on the water. Guilin Xiongsen Bears and Tigers Village

The Bear and Tiger Village is located in Shatang Loop of Guilin Liangjiang Airport Expressway in Lingui County, possessing over 80 tigers, over 200 black bears, 30 lions and leopards, snakes, monkeys, birds and other wild animals of precious and rare species. In order to maintain the wild nature of those animals, the village arranges beasts, birds and snakes training performances every day including exciting and horrifying games of a tiger catching a pig and a lion fighting against a bull, which will make people understand the natural rule of survival. The most famous program is "the bears and tigers show", which will let you experience the real wild life and excitement by watching tigers, bears, lions and monkeys playing together. The acrobatic performances of bears and monkeys riding a motor on wire are really amazing and awe-inspiring.

Camel Hill

The hill is located in Seven Stars Park. It has inherent character like a one-humped camel and also like a wine pot, so it was called "Pot Hill" in ancient times. Peach flower is blossoming like red glow in the morning and the "Red Glow of Pot Hill" is one of Guilin's eight famous sights.

Flower Bridge

Founded in Song Dynasty, Flower Bridge has a history over 700 years. There is a Wind and Rain Corridor on the bridge. The part of the bridge over water has 4 arches while the part over land has 7. These arches reflected in water are like full moons. Spanning the Xiaodong River, the bridge is the gateway to the Seven-star Park.

Located in the north of Guilin and by Li River, Yushan Park is the star ting spot for sightseeing of Guilin Mountain and Lakes, and the birthplace of Guilin's history and culture. In the park, Yushan Mountain, Huangzetan Lake and Shaoyin Cave have been regarded as Fairy Mountains, Fairy River and Fairy Cave respectively since long ago. Over 4000 years ago, Yu Emperor (Shun Emperor), one of the primogenitors of Chinese civilization, once toured down south here. Qin's people set up a temple to commemorate him. The temple still remains for over 2000 years. Since long time ago, pilgrims have been coming here unceasingly, which attaches heavy color of Confucian Culture to it and accumulates deep historical culture contents for the Yushan and Yu Emperor Temple. With combination of yesterday and today, and containing both east and west, Yushan Park is novel in appearance and unique in style, refined and graceful. Main scenic spots are yu Emperor Temple, Yiqing Garden, Sanjue Stele, 5-Happiness Tower, Wenshao Building, Shaoyin Cave, 9-layer Sky and Meiquan Palace. Reed Flute Park

Located in the northwest of Guilin City, 5 kilometres away from the center of the city, the park is a famous scenic spot, mainly offering a majestic fairyland of karst caves with landscape and rural scenery. The length of the Reed Flute Cave is 240 meters, whereas the whole distance of touring can last 500 meters. There are too many things for the eyes to take in. the natural beauty of large amount of stalactites, stalagmites, stone columns, stone curtains, stone pillars in fantastic shapes and colours, which formed the numerous imaginable spots, such as 'Dawn in the Lion Hill', 'Round-topped Mosquito Palace', The Hill of Flowers and Fruits', etc. These remarkable scenes in the cave could undoubtedly evoke breathless admiration from domestic and foreign visitors. Thus, the cave is highly praised as the 'Huge Art Palace of the Nature'. Tourists began to pay their visits here in the Tang Dynasty. At present, there are 77 stone inscriptions through the ages inside the cave Since the discovery and opening of the cave in 1959, a lot of tourist installations, such as restaurants, a teahouse, waterside pavilions, a pond and a zigzag bridge have been established here. Moreover, there are pleasure-boats on the pond, and flowers and trees could be seen here and there. In a word, the Reed Flute Cave has become one of the most popular spots that Chinese and foreign tourists will be bound to visit.

Fubo Hill

Rising from the ground, Fubo Hill slopes into the Li River in the east and looms in the west over the ground. Waves run back wherever they meet the blocks thus it gets the name. A tale also has it that Ma Yuan, called General Fubo, of the Han Dynasty had once passed by Guilin on a southern expedition. He poured all the pearls he carried into the river, so the hill was named after him in his memory, and there used to be a Fubo Pavilion on the hill in Tang Dynasty.
Now, it still has a lot of places of interest, such as Kuishui Ting (Kui Stream Pavilion), Tingtao Pavilion (Listening to Waves), Banshan Ting (Half the Hill Pavilion), Huanzhu Cave (Returning the Pearl). Shijian Stone (Testing Sword), Qianfo Cave (Thousand-Buddha Cave) and Coral Cave. There is also a pot which is said to be big enough to cook for one thousand people and a cast iron bell, which was built by the daughter of Prince Ding Nan of Qing Dynasty named Kong Youde as a memorial of him.
The Shijian Stone (Testing Sword Stone) in the Returning Pearl Cave which is closely attached to Li River is a giant stone, hanging from the ceiling of the cave with only a few inches to the ground. It seems that its top and the ground was suddenly separated as a result of General Fubo's sword testing and it remains a wonder as well. In Returning Pearl Cave and Qianfo Cave, there are many stone slabs and Buddha images carved in relief in Tang and Song Dynasties. So it is known as 'the Fascinating Place of Fubo Mountain'.

Chuanshan Hill Park

Situated south of the city and on the east bank of Li River, Chuanshan Hill Park covers an area of 2 square kilometers with the Chuanshan Hill as the axis. It faces Elephant-trunk Hill across the Li River and stands against the Turtle Hill on the west bank. Two hills look like two fighting roosters,

hence the name Rooster-fighting Hills. There is Tower Hill in front of the Chuanshan Hill with Shou Fo Pagoda of Ming Dynasty on the top. Xiaodong Rivers runs between the two hills with picturesque reflections on the water. The Chuanshan Hill has Moon Cave and Tunnel Cave. Moon Cave is at the middle hillside and looks like a moon. Standing in the cave, tourists will have a spectacular view looking to the north or south. At the bottom of the hill, the Tunnel Cave has the rarely seen scenery besides stalactite.?

Jingjiang King's Residence

Zhu Shouqian was appointed as the Jingjiang King by his grandfather Ming Tai Zu (the first emperor of Ming Dynasty). In 1372, Zhu Shouqian had the king residence built up at the foot of Duxiu Peak. It was completed in the year 1392 and was set up complying with the formation for all kings. The main buildings include Chengyuan Gate in the front, Chengyun Hall in the middle with the living hall at its back and the royal garden at the end. There are 4 halls,

4 pavilions and other 40 constructions surrounding the main buildings.It covers a total area of 19.87 hectares. During the 257 years from the founding of the mansion to the end of Ming Dynasty, 14 kings of 12 generations lived here.
In 1921, Sun Yat-sen had been here for the Northward Expedition. In the winter of 1925, it was established to be Yat-sen Park and now is Guangxi Normal University. Duxiu Peak is standing nearby. The carved balustrades and marble steps of the mansion still remain to today.

Crown Cave

Crown Cave is located in Grassland Town southern suburbs of Guilin. The cave gets its name because it looks like a crown. It has a great gate facing Li River and the cave stream enters into Li River. The cave is further divided into four caves connecting with each other. There are stalagmite and stalactite attached in the top of the outer cave with spacious and bright appearance.

You can sail into the cave from Li River. Looking outside gives you a full view of the hanging stalactite, with purple mist which creates a poetic charm in this cave. If you travel in a boat on Li River, after about two hours' sailing from Guilin to Yangshuo, you will see the wonderful scenery of the Crown Cave.

Overseas Chinese Tourist and Economic Zone

This Zone is located in the southwest of beautiful Li River with 18km riverbank, what is more, the upstream 49 exotic peaks embrace the zone. These give a site with depending on hill and facing a river. The forestry coverage rate here is 60%. There are Huihua golf course, Liusan Sister village, fruit garden, Mopanshan Mountain Hanfang Herbal Medicine Theme Park and Lotus World, which are the ideal places for holiday, sightseeing and convalescence.

Ta Hill

Ta Hill is located in the southern suburb of Guilin. It got its name from the seven-story, six-angle and solid-hearted Buddhist tower established in Ming Dynasty. Small as it is, Ta Hill is attractive for its exquisite and oddly shaped rocks.

Reed Flute Cave

The Reed Flute Cave is praised as "the art hall created by nature". The track of tourists is prosperous from Tang Dynasty. From 1959 when it was developed, it has been a must for every tourist to Guilin.

Jingjiang King's Tombs

The Jing Jiang King's Tombs are located in the southwest of Yao Hill. It is the best-preserved tomb complex covering 100 square kilometers. It includes 11 tombs for kings and queens, 3 for minor combines of the kings, and over 320 tombs for generals, royal family members and royal relatives. They are strictly structured and splendidly constructed.

Guilin Lion Rock Birds World

Exclusively invested by Dalian Hongkai International Trade Company, Guilin Lion Rock Birds World is a leisure and entertainment place with birds as its theme, which provides a combination of sight enjoyment, entertainment and science popularization.

Xu Xiake, the great traveler in Ming Dynasty once toured here, described it as "Lion Rock Mountain, like a sitting lion with its head up".From this, the scenic zone gets its name. Located at the beautiful Taohua (Peach Blossom) River, the Scenic Zone faces the Overseas Chinese Hotel, with a river in between. Occupying an area of 80,000 square meters, the scenic zone stands beside mountains and waters, where there is a beautiful scene and over 10,000 birds of several thousands varieties are living. Elephant-trunk Hill

Elephant-trunk Hill is also called Elephant Hill, which stands majestically at the confluence of the Li River and Taohua River. The green water of Li River in front of it and the clear spring at the foot made the Elephant Hill one of the most famous hills in Guilin City. It is deemed as the symbol of Guilin. The Elephant Hill has Shuiyue Cave, Elephant's Eye Stone, Pagoda for Samantabhadra, Yunfeng Temple ant Taiping Tian Guo Revolutionary Relics Exhibition Hall. A pagoda containing the only Sheli of Kaiyuan Temple in Sui and Tang dynasties is near the park.

Shuiyue Cave is at the riverside with water of Li River flowing through.It looks like a moon on the river. The stone looks like a trunk of an elephant drinking water. With a fabulous scenic view, the Elephant-trunk Hill is an outstanding tourist attraction even in early Tang and Song dynasties.

West Hill

Located in the west of Guilin, West Hill is a famous site of Guilin and covers about 2 square kilometers including the Hidden Hill and West Hill. Xi Shan used to be the booming site for ancient Buddhism. During the Tang Dynaty, splendid temples were found scattering all around. The famous Xiqinglin Temple built in Tang Dynasty was one of the five large temples in South China at that time, when eminent monks, famous people and devout men came here from afar for a visit incessantly. Now on the hills there still remain over 90 Buddhist shrines and over 200 statues. The main scenery spots include Six Caves on the Hidden Hill, West Peak, Qianshan Peak, Liyu Peak, Guanyin Peak, Dragon Head Peak, Babushijin Tomb, Guilin Msueum, Guilin Xiongben Friendship Hall, Facang Temple on the Hidden Hill, West Lake, Jiuqu Bridge and other pavilions.

Banyan Lake and Fir Lake

Banyan Lake and Fir Lake are located in the center of Guilin, and Banyan Lake is west and Fir Lake is east with the Yang Bridge as the boundary. The Banyan Lake surface is so smooth that it looks like a mirror shining the ancient city. It charms visitors with its calm character in the noisy environment of the downtown. To the north of the lake is ancient banyans and Banyan Shadow pavilion where it is said that the reduced Song Dynasty poet Huang Ting Jian had his boat tied here.

The ancient South Gate was established in Tang Dynasty. Fir Lake is neighboring Li River in the east and is depending on Elephant Hill in the south. There is a group of mushrooming pavilions with clear water reflection. Many cottages were built around the two lakes by many celebrities since the Ming and Qing dynasties. Nowadays, around the two lakes are many structures including hotels, stores, theaters, library and other tourist buildings. Thus the hills and waters form the best attraction for tourists.

Yao Hill

Yao Hill lies in the east of Guilin, 12 km away from the downtown. The top peak is 909 meters high and 760 meters by relative height and is the biggest and the highest hill in Guilin. It got its name from its location where it faces the Memorial Temple of Emperor Shun across the Li River. Yao Hill is famous for its deepness and broadness with splendid air. It has a spring with azalea flowers everywhere, a summer of competing bamboo for their greenness, an autumn of sky-touching red maples with falling leaves, and a winter of snow on mountains so transparent as pure crystal. The Hill holds such places of interest as Yao Temple, White Deer Temple, Jade Breast Pond and Tianci Field, among which the Jingjiang King Tombs covering over 100 square meters are the most famous ones.
Completed in 1996, the 1,416.18-meter long cable way connects the top and the foot with a bird's-eye view of wonderful peaks and ground. The 1,000m sloping track has 18 curves, which enables tourists to travel through mysterious forest in thrill to seek the charm of nature.

Guilin Botanical Park

Guilin Botanical Park is located in the west of Yan Hill town and opposite to Yan Hill Park. This Botanical Park was set up in 1958, covering 67 hectares, and it is one of the earliest ten Chinese botanical parks. There are more than 2,100 species of subtropical plants as its main body. These plants are mainly for economy and appreciation. Now, in the park are gymnosperm zone, palm zone, medicine plant zone, flowers and potted landscape, rare and endangered plants zone and lily zone, plus ginkgo, tea and black cypress garden and so on. With these, the city of Guilin has been the ideal place for holiday and tourism.

Duxiu Peak

Duxiu Peak abruptly rises, steep and precipitous, in Jingjiang King's Residence and has long been called "a Pillar holding Up the Southern Sky". Lying at the southeast foot of the peak, DuShu Cave (Study Cave where Yan Yanzhi, a man of letters of South and Song dynasties once did his reading) is the oldest famous relic in Guilin of a well-known figure. Yan wrote, .

"Amid Guilin arises the solitary beauty peak, so towering that no peak can match". From then on the hill has been known as the Solitary Beauty Peak

Gui Hai Bei Lin

The wonderful scenery of Guilin attracts many famous figures to leave his/her remarks here, and Guilin is also famous for these inscriptions from then on. The Hidden Dragon Cave, which is located in Seven-star Park, houses more than 200 relics like that, so it is impossible to found one single blank stone here. Thus it got its name "Inscriptions Forest in Guilin".

Ancient Wooden Dragon Ferry Crossing

The Ancient Wooden Dragon Ferry Crossing is one of the ancient ferry crossings on Li River. This ancient ferry crossing has an ancient tower set up in Tang Dynasty and is one of the famous scenic spots in Guilin.

Ancient South Gate

Constructed in Tang Dynasty and expanded in Ming Dynasty, the gate lies in north bank of the Banyan Lake. In front of the gate is a 1,000-year-old Banyan tree with flourishing leaves by the lake. The "Shadow of the Ancient Banyan Tree" is one of the famous scenic spots of Guilin in Qing Dynasty.
