Shenzhen: new boom in visitors expected for 2011

In recent years, tourism in Shenzhen has had an extraordinary boom, thanks to the promotional activities and the intensive organization of fairs and exhibitions. The results (in terms of visitors and revenue) have reached a level closer to the major tourist cities (Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou) than to other medium and smaller cities. But it is in the course of 2011 and subsequent years that it will be an exceptional and unprecedented boom in tourist flows direct to Shenzhen.



Langham Hotels has secured its presence in Shenzhen

Among the first to realize the success of Shenzhen is obviously the leadership of Langham Hotels International that, after having signed a management agreement with Shenzhen East Pacific Group, it has secured its presence in Shenzhen. Langham Hotels International will opens in 2012 its Hotel with 352 luxuriously elegant guestrooms and suites (many with wonderful views on Shenzhen Bay) in the Futian district, the city's new business and commercial district. Langham Hotels International was the most prestigious British hotel company and opened its first "Grand Hotel" in London in 1865. Actually Langham Hotels International is totally owned by the Great Eagle Group, one of Hong kong's leading property companies and now listed on the Hong kong Stock Exchange. This new great hotel further enhances the group of prestigious hotels already operating in Shenzhen.



Meanwhile Shenzhen multiply tourist promotions

It was recently also signed an important agreement between China National Travel Service (HK) and Shenzhen municipal government. The two sides will cooperate together in order to make Shenzhen a major international tourist destination, not only in tourism business, but also in traditional tourism. CTSHK invest a lot about Shenzhen, will play in all its strength, its experience, its experts, to make Shenzhen a coastal tourist city even more important. And the government of Shenzhen will provide all its cooperation to ensure the success of initiatives undertaken.



A city increasingly important for tourism and economy

Shenzhen is considered one of the fastest growing cities in the world. As the major financial center of Southern China, Shenzhen is also home of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange as well as the headquarters of numerous high-tech companies. Besides the port of Shenzhen is third in importance only after Shanghai and Hong kong. But during 2011 it will bring a new tourist boom in size so great as to surprise even the tourism operators.
