Migratory birds in China

The areas of China most frequented by migratory birds: Lashi Lake, Lijiang (Yunnan province), Panjin coastal wetland Natural Reserve (Liaoning province), Zhalong Nature Reserve (Heilongjiang province), Poyang Lake, Jiujiang City (Jiangxi province).

Yunnan Stone Forest

The Stone Forest (Shilin County, 120 km from Kunming) is a groups of limestone formations shaped as stalagmites and similar to petrified trees. The Stone Forest cover an area of 400 sq km and is one of the attractions most visited in Yunnan.

Beijing Heaven Temple

The Temple of Heaven (SouthEast of Beijing) is an important buildings of Taoist religion . The emperors Ming and Qing held here the annual ceremonies for a good harvest. The Temple of Heaven was built from Yongle Emperor from 1402 to 1420 AC.

Xian Terracotta Warriors

The famous Terracotta Warriors (Xi'An, Shaanxi) are about 9000 terracotta sculptures, depicting the imperial army of Qin Shi Huangdi , the first Emperor of China. The sculptures was buried with the emperor corpse (209 BC) to protect the emperor in his life after death.

Beijing Forbidden City

The Forbidden City was the imperial house for Ming e Qing Dinasty. Built from 1406 to 1420 was inhabited by the emperors to the end of the empire in 1911. The Forbidden City complex is composed of 978 buildings and occupies an area of 75 hectares.

Beijing Summer Palace

The Summer Palace (near Beijing) is a well preserved imperial garden. Built in 1750, is composed from Longevity Hill, Kunming Lake, and many pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges. The Garden was constructed from Qianlong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty.

City Wall in Xi'An

The Xi'An city Wall (14 km long, 18 m wide and 12 m high) are one of the oldest city walls in China. The wall are built in 194 BC to protect the capital of first Emperor of China. The existing wall was built during Ming Dynasty in 1370. Xian is on of Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.

Guilin, beautiful views

Guilin is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, celebrated for centuries by painters and poets. Beautiful 5-hour cruises on the Li River, among breathtaking scenery, old villages and the typical rolling hills of Guilin, from rounded and soft shapes.

Fujian Tulous

Tulou are curious constructions (square or circular) located in the southeast Fujian, southern Jiangxi and northern Guangdong. Were built by the Hakka and Minnan people (from 1100 BC). Each home is built as a small fortified city and is home to about 80 families.

Harbin Ice Buildings

Harbin is famous and really like to tourists, also for its annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival. In winter (-16 to -35 ) the city is full of incredible sculptures and buildings of ice, even a hotel of ice. Harbin is also equipped for skiing

A lake in the Gobi desert (Dunhuang, Gansu Province). Dunhuang, a city of sand, was an important crossroads on the Silk Road. This lake (whose death was averted by geologic interventions) is visited by tourists from around the world. Interesting camel rides.

Dunhuang Mogao Caves

Dunhuang_Caves. Numerous Buddhist caves are located in this area. Only in Mogao there are more than 630 Caves, but there are another 3 big areas of caves. Many caves have been decorated with religious frescoes and beautiful sculptures from the monks.

Long Ji Rice Terraces

Long Ji Water Field Rice Terraces (Guilin, Guanxi) is an area of beautiful rice terraces. These terraces (occupying about 60 sq. km) were built during the Yuan Dynasty, shortly after year 1300 AD. Near this area you can enjoy charming old villages.

Yabuli Ski Resort

Yabuli Ski Resort (Heilongjiang) is the location preferred by skiers. It has many tracks and is the best equipped place in China for winter sports. In recent years he has hosted important ski events. Located at 175 km distance from Harbin, about 2.5 hours by train

Shaolin Monastery

The Shaolin Monastery is a Buddhist temple in Dengfeng, near Zhengzhou (Henan). Founded in the 5th century, the monastery is famous as the best center of Shaolin Kung Fu. Shaolin Monastery and its Pagoda Forest are World Heritage Site (UNESCO).

Hanging Temple

Hanging Temple (Shanxi, 65 km from Datong) is hanging on the rock overhanging the precipice (75 feet high). Built from 1500 years, it consists of 160 sqm halls. The temple is dedicated to 3 religions (Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian) to promote the unity of the Chinese people.

Elephant Trunk Hill

Elephant Trunk Hill is a great tourist attraction in Guilin (Guangxi). It is located in the western shore of Li River near the junction with Peach Blossom River. In the Elephant Trunk Hill Park there is also Yunfeng Monastery and Aiqing Dao (Love Island).

Shenyang Imperial Palace

Shenyang Imperial Palace (Shenyang, Liaoning) is the sole existing imperial palace in China besides Forbidden City (Beijing). Built since 1625 to 1636 from Qing Dinasty, the Shenyang Imperial Palace consists of about 300 rooms occupying an area of 60,000 sqm.

Zhangjiajie Forest Park

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is the 1st National Forest Park of China (established in 1982). Over an area of 13 sq km there are lush forests underlying from pillars of underlying sandstone (quartzite). Zhangjiajie National Forest is part of Wulingyuan Scenic Area.

Xishuangbanna Paradise

Xishuangbanna is a tropical paradise, in the Southern Yunnan, near Burma and Laos. Located at altitude 500 to 1500m, temperature 18-25C, Xishuangbanna is a land without winter. It has always been an essential pass via land from China to the Indochina Peninsula.

Hangzhou (9 million people, Zhejiang) is a ancient and charming city located 180 km southwest of Shanghai, on the shore of famous West Lake. It is rich of natural beauty and attractions, like Solidary Hill, Zhongshan Park, Six Harmonies Pagoda, Lingyin Temple.

Leshan Giant Buddha

Giant Buddha of Leshan (Sichuan). This huge Buddha statue, carved into a cliff in Leshan Mountain, is over 70 meter high. Situated in special position, overlooking three rivers, the Giant Buddha was built during 90 year (from year 713, Tang Dynasty).

White Water Terrace

Baishui Terrace (or White Water Terrace) is situated 100 km southeast of the Shangri-la (Yunnan). The spring water, leaving crystallized sodium carbonate for 200.000 years has created this structure such a marble sculpture (on area of 3 sq km).

Diaoshuilou Waterfall

Diaoshuilou Waterfall, Jingbohu Lake (also known as Mirror Lake). Located in Heilongjiang Province, 80 km distance from Mudanjiang City, this beautifull fall is situated at the junction with Mudan River. The Diaoshuilou waterfall is 26 m high and 45 m wide.

Tropical Hainan

Hainan is a big island in the southern coast of China. Hainan has beautiful beaches and mountains and is a destination many visited from Chinese tourists. The main city of Hainan is Haikou City. The city with the largest number of visitors is Sanya City, famous for the sea and beaches.
